We are only days away from a historical elections in a global pandemic, and also in the midst of a Supreme Court nomination hearing that will drastically change the leaning of the court. Now more than ever it seems that kindness has been lost. This week I chose to post a Lincoln quote which helps to remind me that when this election passes, not matter who is our POTUS, we are ONE country. True kindness and not fake talking points and propaganda will shine in the end. I want to let go of what has not been healthy or helpful. It is really important for me to look beyond what people say and focus on what they do. I strive to be kind to others, but I am not always successful. Every single one of us is guilty of moments of being unkind. It is part of the human condition to be imperfect. That being said, it is crucial to remember kindness does not mean letting go of healthy boundaries and tolerating toxicity, it means acting with empathy, understanding and truth.
